The first Watch Fob Collector's meeting was held on april 4, 1965 at the American Legion Hall in Norwalk, Ohio with 33 members present. The first show and meeting was held at the same location three years later and there have been annual shows every year since then.

The International Watch Fob Association, in cooperation with the Canadian Association of Watch Fob Collectors and The Midwest Watch Fob Collectors, Inc., have a combined Dealer's Code of Ethics. This appears right on the IWFA website's home page at http://www.watchfob.com
