ACC Program Area:Reaching Young Collectors - Introduction

Introduction

Realizing that some collecting areas may be of more interest to young people than others, all clubs should find ways to make young collectors feel welcome. Help them to learn about the hobby so their collecting experience will be a pleasant one. There are some collecting clubs which are currently doing an outstanding job in this area. With their support, other clubs may find this a valid component to include in their future plans.

A Program Advisory Group is developing this program area and will continue to monitor, add to, and refine the information on an ongoing basis. Discussion Forums are available for collectors to gain more specific information from a variety of forum participants. A listing of Resources for this Program Area is provided, as well as a Reference Archive. Between the Program Area, the listing of Resources and the Archive, there is a wealth of ideas for any club desiring to place an emphasis on reaching out to and involving young collectors in their club or association. And, all of these areas will continue to expand as new information is sent in or generated.

The primary purpose of the Association of Collecting Clubs (ACC) is to build coalitions between clubs, networking to share information for strengthening member clubs and better serving their memberships.
